# Flexitime balance type

Flexitime balance types are used in the flexitime settings in Capitech. You can create, change, or deactivate balance types under Admin - Flexitime - Flexitime balance type, but the flexitime settings themselves should be adjusted by a consultant.

## What is a flexitime balance type?

A **balance type** is used to distinguish between different types of balances in the flexitime settings.

Balance types can, for example, be used when calculating, displaying, and transferring flexitime balances.

## Where can you find flexitime balance types?

Go to **Admin - Flexitime - Flexitime balance type**

Here you can view existing balance types and manage the settings.

## Create new balance type

How to create a new balance type:

1.  Go to **Admin - Flexitime - Flexitime balance type.**
2.  Click **the plus sign** in the upper-left corner.
3.  Enter the required information.
4.  Click **Save**.

## Change a balance type

To change a balance type, click its name.

Here, you can, for example:

-   change the name
-   deactivate the balance type

Click **Save** once you have made the changes.

## Delete a balance type

A balance type can only be deleted if it is not in use.

How to delete a balance type:

1.  Go to Admin - Flexitime - Flexitime balance type.
2.  Find the balance type you want to delete.
3.  Click the three dots on the left.
4.  Click the trash can icon.
5.  Confirm the deletion.

If the balance type is in use, it cannot be deleted. In this case, consider deactivating it instead.

## Adjust the flexitime settings

Flexitime settings are normally adjusted by a consultant.
