# Hours - Suggested daily routine

Use the Hours module to check, correct, and approve hours. The goal of the daily routine is to make sure all hours are checked and approved up to and including yesterday. This helps ensure that hours and overtime are ready for payroll and reporting.

## Suggested daily routine

#### **1\. Select the period**

Select the period you want to check, for example:

- **Yesterday**
- **This week**

#### **2\. Review registrations that need extra attention**

Click the **warning triangle** icon in the top-right corner to show registrations that need follow-up.

This may include registrations with:

- overtime
- missing check-in or check-out time
- missing time category

Check the registrations, correct them if needed, and approve them.

Click the **warning triangle** icon again to remove the filter and return to the normal view.

#### 3\. Review regular registrations

Go through the remaining time registrations, correct them if needed, and approve them.

You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move down the list. When you have reviewed the registrations, click **Approve** in the top-right corner.

#### 4\. Check for missing attendance

Click the icon with the outline of a person to see employees who were expected to be at work, but have no registered hours or absence.

## What happens if the routine is not followed?

If the daily control is not completed, it may lead to:

- errors in hours and overtime
- incorrect payroll basis
- time registrations without approval not being included in the payroll export
- extra work for managers, payroll, and HR

## **Tip**

It is recommended to show absence in the time registration view when checking hours. This makes it easier to see if the workday is covered by registered hours and/or absence.

This is especially useful for short-term absence and graded absence.

Then you can quickly see if hours and absence correspond to normal working hours.
