# Sickness Absence Reports in Flow – How to Choose the Right Report

Capitech Flow includes several sickness absence reports. Use Sickness Absence Statistics for internal follow-up and analysis. Use Statistics Norway (SSB) Self-Certified Absence to retrieve figures for external reporting through Altinn.

## Which sickness absence reports are available?

Under **Reports > Absence**, you can find several sickness absence reports.

The most commonly used reports are:

| Report | Used for |
| --- | --- |
| **Sickness Absence Statistics per Department** | Internal overview of sickness absence by department |
| **Sickness Absence Statistics per Sex** | Internal overview broken down by gender |
| **Absence Percentage per Department (chart)** | Visual overview for use in meetings and sharing |
| **SSB Self-Certified Absence** | External reporting of self-certified sick leave through Altinn |

### When should you use Sickness Absence Statistics?

Use **Sickness Absence Statistics** when you want to monitor and analyze sickness absence internally.

The reports show:

- sickness absence percentage
- self-certified sick leave
- medically certified sick leave
- absence broken down by department or gender
- duration of medically certified sick leave

The sickness absence percentage is mainly calculated as follows:

**sickness absence / agreed man-days × 100**

Sickness absence consists of absence registered as **self-certified sick leave** or **medically certified sick leave**.

## When do you use SSB Self-certified Absence?

Use **SSB Self-Certified Absence** when you need figures for reporting self-certified sick leave.

This report is designed for external reporting to **Statistics Norway through Altinn** and is used for form **RA-0182**.

## Why might the reports show different figures?

The figures may differ because the reports have different purposes and calculate their underlying data differently.

**Sickness Absence Statistics** is used for internal analysis and is based on absence codes defined as sickness absence.

**SSB Self-Certified Absence** is designed for external reporting and may apply stricter criteria to what should be included.

A common example is absence with the **Self-certified sick leave** absence code where the **Uses self-certification** setting is not enabled. The absence may then be included in the sickness absence statistics but excluded from the Statistics Norway report.

## What should you check if the figures differ?

If the figures do not match across the reports, check:

- which report you are using
- which period you selected
- which absence codes were used
- whether the absence was registered as self-certified or medically certified sick leave
- whether the self-certification settings are configured correctly

## Which report should you choose?

Choose the report based on its purpose:

- Use **Sickness Absence Statistics per Department** for internal follow-up by department.
- Use **Sickness Absence Statistics per Sex** for an internal overview broken down by gender.
- Use **Absence Percentage per Department (chart)** when presenting the figures visually.
- Use **SSB Self-Certified Sick Leave** when reporting self-certified sick leave externally through Altinn.
