Create a new user by copying an existing user

If you need to create a new user with the same roles, permissions, and access as an existing user, copying the user is the quickest method. This is useful, for example, when a new manager needs the same access as another manager.

Prerequisites

To create or edit users, you must have access to Capitech Flow and permission to create users.

The Can create users field on your user account must be set to Yes.

How to copy a user

  1. Go to Admin - Security - Users.
  2. Find the user you want to copy.
  3. Click the three dots to the left of the user.
  4. Select the plus icon.
  5. Enter the username, email address, and other information for the new user.
  6. If you use external login, make sure you add the external user ID using the black workbook icon next to the external user-id box.
  7. Check that the roles, user access, and approval settings are correct.
  8. Click Save.

Roles, user access, and approval settings are copied automatically from the existing user.

Tips

You can see when a user last logged in under the Last login column.

Sort by this column to identify users who may no longer use the system. If appropriate, you can deactivate them by opening the user account and clearing the Active checkbox. Remember to click Save afterwards.
